The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey issues the lira, first introduced in 1923 to replace the Ottoman lira after the republic was founded. The current version dates from 2005, when a redenomination knocked six zeros off the old currency in one stroke.

Norway swapped the old speciedaler for the krone in 1875, at four kroner per speciedaler, joining the gold-based Scandinavian Monetary Union that Sweden and Denmark had formed two years earlier. Norges Bank issues it, and it outlived the union, which broke down around World War I.
